Things I see in Buenos Aires

More subte sightings

So I’ve been lazy lately and haven’t gotten around to posting about the awesomeness I’ve seen on the subte lately, but it’s been throwing too many fascinating subjects at me lately to not post.

1.) I saw my first real jumpsuit on the subte. I kind of considered the jumpsuit as a fashion urban legend: everyone has heard of it, and my best friend’s cousin knows someone who has one, but I had never actually seen one worn en vivo. Well now I have and I can safely say that they are not attractive. Moving on…

2.) Next to first jumpsuit lady was probably the strangest thing I’ve ever seen in BA. A 30-something man wearing very baggy pants had a baby bottle in his back pocket. I thought it was strange since he didn’t come on the subte with a baby, or even a baby-momma, but I wasn’t going to judge. Maybe he was on his way to visit his kid or something; I don’t know his life. That was until I watched him remove the bottle that was filled with Coke or some other kind of cola and drink from it. In public. Now I do know his life, he’s crazy and/or doesn’t believe in grown-up bottles.

3.) Lastly, continuing with the theme of ridiculously dressed people in 90 degree heat that I mentioned in a previous post, I saw a woman wearing long pants and a FULL LENGTH, PUFFY, DOWN COAT. What is this? Again, I was sweating while wearing a dress and sandals and she looked perfectly comfortable in her ski gear. The only thing I can figure is that she thought the subte b line was going to take her to Antarctica when really she was just riding the crazy train all along.
