So my office has moved. I can no longer walk to work, but instead take the subway to the center of the city. Honestly, I miss the walk. Even in the rain, or when the sidewalks were crowded I enjoyed people watching. It was also nice to know that no matter what I did after work I still walked about 3 kilometers every day.
That said, once we made the move and I saw the new office I’m really glad that we moved. It’s much nicer and bigger. Also, the few blocks I walk from the subway to the office seem planned for me. First I pass a huge Arcor candy store, then several theatres, then I walk by 6 or 7 musical instrument stores, a jewelry store, and quite a few old and interesting cafes.
Plus, the subway is fun for people watching as well. Case in point, yesterday morning I saw an older man with the largest, bushiest eyebrows I’ve ever seen, reading a book with one of those book covers designed to protect the book and its title cover. I don’t know what he was reading, obviously, but I hope it was Twilight.
Also, when I was walking the two blogs from the subway to my apartment I passed a HUGE, muscular man walking a teeny dog. You know, one of those purse dogs that Paris Hilton popularized. The guy did not look pleased and I had to hide my chuckle at the size difference and his obvious anger at taking out his girlfriend’s/wife’s/daughter’s dog.
